Leave your thoughts about City Heat.
Time OutGeoff AndrewIt's certainly not a subtle movie, but with memorable performances, ludicrously over-the-top one-liners and amiable zaniness, it qualifies as a lot of fun.
Christian Science MonitorDavid SterrittCity Heat is an amiable but decidedly lukewarm confection geared entirely around the two star turns.
Washington PostRita KempleyEven at its best, film noir dialogue teeters on the verge of self-parody and City Heat all too often crosses the thin line separating crackling from cornball.
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonBottom line: Good roles for the stars, nice production values, and an impressive supporting cast, but no thrills and only minor laughs.
Washington PostPaul AttanasioInside this star vehicle there's a real movie screaming for air.
New York TimesJanet MaslinOverdressed and overplotted as it is, City Heat benefits greatly from the sardonic teamwork of Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds. Without them the film would be eminently forgettable, but their bantering gives it an enjoyable edge.
VarietyVariety StaffAn amiable but decidedly lukewarm confection geared entirely around the two star turns.
Chicago ReaderDave KehrUnder the direction of last-minute replacement Richard Benjamin, the results are insufferable—grotesque, chaotic, demoralized.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertCity Heat is a movie in which people almost obviously don't have a clue.
User ReviewAlex SBurt and clint and no buddy likes this, how on earth does a classic film get such a low rating. I don't understand people and their tastes. What can I say, the world has no taste, or understanding for anything great, it never has and never will. People just don't get it or understand or even know what is good now, or even before, its like a thing with people they just suck when it comes too taste and what is actually good. the two best 70s actors on the planet in a movie together.
