Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 8/10 by Dennis SchwartzWell-made biopic on patriotic war heroine and martyr Violette Szabo.
Movie Metropolis - 7/10 by John J. PuccioChronicling the real-life exploits of WWII British spy Violette Szabo, the film serves its purpose and presents its subject matter in a moving and dignified manner.
User Review - 10/10 by Sam BThis movie is simply amazing. It tells the story of a London shopgirl called Violette Bushell whose normal life changes drastically when her husband, who is a French soldier, gets killed in action. Violette shows great bravery and courage. The acting is amazing especially Virginia McKenna and Billie Whitelaw. The Life That I Have The life that I have Is all that I have And the life that I have Is yours The love that I have Of the life that I have Is yours and yours and yours. A sleep I shall have A rest I shall have Yet death will be but a pause For the peace of my years In the long green grass Will be yours and yours and yours. Get your tissues ready.
User Review - 10/10 by Robert WSound rendering of the war time exploits of the heroic Violette Szabo (nee Bushell) who volunteered for service as a secret agent with the UK's Special Operations Executive (SOE), after her French Foreign Legion officer husband Etienne was killed, leaving her baby daughter behind in family care. Szabo was captured, tortured and executed in Revensbr?k Concentration Camp after being betrayed on her second mission into occupied France. She was posthumously awarded the George Cross (rated equal to the UK's highest decoration for valour, the Victoria Cross). The haunting poem used in the film was written by Leo marks, then aged 22, the chief code maker for SOE.

User Review - 10/10 by Gwen DI have always loved with this film despite the tragic ending. The true story is so inspiring and Virginia McKenna plays the lead female part in such an understated way that you could only warm to Violette Szabo. From the film it is easy to see that Violette lived about a thousand lives in the 2nd world war as she fell in love, married, experience motherhood and widowhood. Not forgetting her work as a British agent and being captured only to fall for another British agent. More than most people will experience in one lifetime!! Her execution was an absolute travesty.
