New Zealand HeraldPeter CalderThe film certainly has a chillingly predictable arc -- and there's something slightly glib about the upbeat ending -- but it's a very accomplished debut by a film-maker who knows what suspense may be found in the mundane.

User ReviewMonster LOne of my favorite films of all time. A must see for anyone with a decent level of respect for great piece of brilliance.
User ReviewKris SThis film really moved me....showing the complexity of inner city life, peer pressure, family tensions, absent fathers n bad boy turned to religion. It was kept real and not sensationalised. It showed how difficult it is to work out who u wanna be when u r getting conflicting message. Asher rocked. Respect.
User ReviewK.Square KAsher D is really good in it. It is a bit depressing but its a really good film.
User ReviewSebastien CPretty darn bleak and haunting but surely that's the point...?
User ReviewSherie Hthe soundtrack is phenomonal, the realism is phenomonal, saul dibbs portrayal of Hackney is incredibly true. oh and a fun movie fact- the juvenile centre that Ricky leavs at the beginning of the film is the same one that Asher D spent time in when he was a kid! :) how's that for trivia :)but yes, top film, would recommend that everyone sees it.
