Slant MagazineChuck BowenJacob Gentry’s film punches through all the layers of homage to arrive at a place of true horror.
Los Angeles TimesNoel MurrayLike the real-life events that inspired it, Broadcast Signal Intrusion is most thrilling when it’s at its vaguest — like a juicy rumor that’s impossible to confirm.
RogerEbert.comBrian TallericoIt’s a film with echoes of recent horror movies about obsession like Berberian Sound Studio and Censor but those movies, despite their flaws, felt far more legitimately dangerous and fearless than BSI, which is content to maintain a slow buzz of paranoia for longer than it should.
User ReviewBarrowBeaconI wish it had remained as esoteric as it started, but I was thoroughly wrapped up in its world.
User ReviewJLuis_001It seemed to me like a kind of watered down version of 8mm. It's all there, especially the paranoia, but this film seems to have been afraid to dig into the decay that it was bringing out, even when its central character was clearly knocking on its door, and it opts for an ambiguity that ends up hurting it quite a lot, 'cause when you think you're getting into the root of that evil, it feels like something crucial was missing. It walks a long way to end up nowhere.
