RogerEbert.comNick AllenOwing some of its charms to other sex comedies from that decade, this Sundance 2016 title (now playing on Netflix) proves to be more layered than its promises of shenanigans may expect, especially as this is the rare sex comedy that doesn’t glorify the male gaze.
The Arts DeskDavid KettleIt's about as much fun as it can be watching a gaggle of undergrads getting drunk again and again and again.
Little White LiesSophie YappVisually stunning with a script that fluctuates between cringe-worthy and comical.
GuardianLanre BakareQ’s morality tale isn’t without laughs. The quizzers are adept at alluding to and meshing together the greats of English literature with crude dick jokes.
VarietyDennis HarveyOverall, the mix of medium-grade raunchy humor and middleweight drama works fairly well, albeit with few real highlights.
Hollywood ReporterJustin LoweThe cast’s performances adhere to appropriately exaggerated comedic expectations, but could have benefitted from more specific character differentiation.
Consequence of SoundNico LangBrahman Naman is like a crispy Samosa with nothing at the center. The Netflix release, directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee, pays homage to American sex comedies from Porky’s and Revenge of the Nerds to There’s Something About Mary, but lacks the heart to go along with the excess of raunch.
User ReviewPoor NNetflix did it in single meaning what bollywood has been trying to do with double meaning all along. Where did you go song is the bestest I say...
User ReviewShaun MFelt like I was sitting in a cheap shady theatre where I m the only one who bought the ticket and the actors had to drag the act for paying their rent. Most part was clichéd, overstretched and overacted without any story and rest was copied.
User ReviewunderinI had high hopes of the movie. But alas, the movie left a lot to be desired. The script is largely dysfunctional. It neither fulfills its promise of a raunchy sex movie nor does it do enough to capture the interest of a more nuanced audience. For those who want to watch a masterpiece in this genre, I would strongly recommend to watch Chashme Buddoor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082162/). As far as this movie goes, it was a wasted hour of my life.
