With the owner of a ranch now dead, Melford takes aim at the two heirs. The will states they must arrive by a certain date or the property will revert to his Lawyer cohort. When his men try to stop their arrival the Texas Rangers appear just in time. Tex poses as a hired gunman and Jim as one of the heirs as they try to find out why Melford wants an apparently worthless ranch.... (Full plot summary below)
