Movie Reviews

The Daily Beast - 10/10 by Ira Madison IIIRyan Coogler's spectacular first foray into the Marvel universe is an absolute game-changer.
Screen International - 10/10 by Tim GriersonCoogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed) has fashioned a slightly more earnest variation on the typical MCU movie — one that is still fun and funny, but also rooted in a desire to speak meaningfully about racism, global culture clashes, and the tension between hiding behind one’s borders and helping outsiders in need.
Toronto Sun - 10/10 by Liz BraunBlack Panther is every bit as good as you were hoping. Actually -- it's better. A terrific screenplay from Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole elevates this thing way beyond the usual boundaries of the Marvel Universe.
We Live Entertainment - 10/10 by Ashley MenzelWhile watching Black Panther, you know you're watching a cosmic shift in comic book storytelling. We've never seen anything so vibrant and so different from the monotony of superhero films.
Black Girl Nerds - 10/10 by Jamie BroadnaxI left the theater wanting to see this movie at least 10 more times.
Mashable - 10/10 by Angie HanBlack Panther perfects what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has always done so well: build a world so richly rendered, it's almost a letdown to reach the end of the film and realize it's time to return to our own reality.
USA Today - 10/10 by Brian TruittWhile the themes are deep, Black Panther is at the same time a visual joy to behold, with confident quirkiness (those aforementioned war rhinos), insane action sequences and special effects, and the glorious reveal of Wakanda, whose culture is steeped in African influences but which also offers a jaw-dropping look at what a city of the future could be.
Hollywood Reporter - 10/10 by Todd McCarthyThe actors are all seen to very good advantage. Boseman certainly holds his own, but there are quite a few charismatic supporting players here keen to steal every scene they can — and they do, notably the physically imposing Jordan, the radiant Nyong'o and especially Wright, who gives her every scene extra punch and humor.
Rolling Stone - 10/10 by Peter TraversSay this about Black Panther, which raises movie escapism very near the level of art: You've never seen anything like it in your life.
Playboy Online - 10/10 by Stephen RebelloLooking, sounding and feeling the way it does-wearing its anti-corporate, anti-fascist, anti-racist heart on its sleeve-it's a movie that, for sure, knows what's up.
