Movie Reviews

Aisle Seat - 8/10 by Mike McGranaghanThe emphasis is on creating a fun adventure that doesn't take itself too, too seriously, and on that count, the movie definitely succeeds.
Common Sense Media - 6/10 by Renee SchonfeldFierce animal robots threaten Gotham; peril, action violence
User Review - 10/10 by Alex Lliked the movie, put in the ultraviolet code, doesnt show in my collection ð???
User Review - 10/10 by Tim RExcellent story and enjoyed watching this animation!
User Review - 8/10 by Jeff YGood rendition of a favorite superhero. Recommended!
User Review - 6/10 by Wes SThe callbacks and references to other Batman mythos will be fun for fans, but the paint-by-the-numbers story and odd choice of characters will only be fun for younger audiences. It reeks of selling toys, but it doesn't feel too much different than the most mediocre-but-not-bad episode of Batman.
User Review - 6/10 by Jonny CI can see you; even if I couldn't, I could smell you. A group of super villains, led by the Penguin, are all made up of animal villains. The Penguin also has a new animal secret weapon that he plans to be his secret weapon to win the war against Batman. Batman and friend will ban together to take on the Penguin's army of animals. "Turns out he talks as funny as he looks." Butch Lukic, director of the television series Ben 10, Superman, Batman Beyond, Freakazoid, Justic League, The New Batman Adventures, and Gargoyles, delivers Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts (a sequel titled Monster Mayhem is also scheduled to be released this year). The storyline for this picture and the animation style is very average, but the action and use of the heroes was worthwhile. "I think they're related." "Maybe cousins at best." "No, the crimes are related." I came across this film one day and had to purchase the DVD for the collection. It is very average and just okay but my daughter and I found it fun and entertaining. This isn't anything special and definitely doesn't "need" to be in your collection, but it's worth a viewing. "For the fastest guy alive you give the longest goodbyes." Grade: C+
User Review - 6/10 by Michael MNo more than 5 minutes into this movie, I could tell something was off about it. The futuristic Gotham that bordered on Batman Beyond while still having Bruce Wayne instead of Terry McGinnis, the odd and almost forced assortment of many characters who hardly go together (Cheetah? Really?), and the bizarre costume designs that seemed overly flashy and clunky. I quick google search explained it all: the movie is based on toys. More specifically, a toy line categorized as Batman Unlimited, all of which bears a unique style. Suddenly it all made sense. That's why the Flash wears a lightning-bearing helmet and that ape villain (who is for some reason an original character rather than the pre-existing Gorilla Grodd) shoots discs from his arms, those things look good for the toys. In a movie though, they come off a bit awkward and forced. Not as forced as something like the Beast Wars cartoon, but still noticeable. The dialogue is also noticeably simplified, and sort of reminded me of the opening scene of Toy Story with Andy playing with his toys. This seeps into the main conflict involving Penguin's plot to destroy Gotham, which works for a child's play time with action figures, but in a movie creates a multitude of plot holes that are immediately noticeable to any higher thinking viewers. In the end, this movie was made to sell toys. However, in terms of things designed to sell toys (and there are a lot of them) it's really not that bad. Most of the recent DC Animated movies have had a profoundly dark tone that isn't very appropriate for kids, so it's nice to see something come along that works for them. As for the adults, if you lower your expectations a bit and are willing to just go along for the ride, it's a fun movie. Not a masterpiece, but fun. It's got a goofy Saturday morning charm to it that I can't fault it for. Not great, but enjoyable enough for what it is.
User Review - 6/10 by Matthew LAimed at a younger audience than many of the previous animated Batman features, whilst also having no connection to any previous continuity. Although a Batman feature this does feature Green Arrow and The Flash quite extensively along with Nightwing and a rare outing for Red Robin. Its a fun feature but will ultimately be viewed as one of the lesser animated features compared to Mask Of The Phantasm or Under The Red Hood.
User Review - 6/10 by Marcus WPenguin's plan is REALLY stupid...but it's still good fun.
