User Review - 10/10 by Ras WA must see for anyone that wants to know what is really going on in America today.
User Review - 10/10 by Nancy HBringing in her alleged "biography authors'' in the mix is by no means making her words more potent. Her words are and shall always be strong on their own. The 5 stars comes from the incredible defiance that I feel should be expressed when I'm seeing such claims as "nihilist" spouted. Watch it and learn. A better biography would be "Ayn Rand: a Sense of Life".
User Review - 10/10 by Amy NI love Ayn Rand's ideas - from her liberating idea of rational self-interest, to her views on mutual trading in a peaceful society in capitalism, to her uncompromising advocacy of reason and applying it to everything in your life. I liked this documentary for how it covers so many ideas effectively, and introduces me to fans of her philosophy that I didn't know of. This will allow many in Hollywood and in the business world to come out of the closet and proudly state they like her - despite all the negative views of those who hate her without reading her works (as they often do not do!). I'd love to see more documentaries about her come out soon.
User Review - 10/10 by David BFor those truly unfamiliar with the work of Ayn Rand, I recommend reading her works. With regard to secondary literature on her philosophy, a good place to start would be with "Metaethics, Egoism, and Virtue: Studies in Ayn Rand's Normative Theory" edited by Allan Gotthelf and James G. Lennox, the works by Tara Smith, especially "Viable Values" and "Ayn Rand's Normative Ethics" as well as Leonard Peikoff's "Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand."
User Review - 10/10 by Paul GLiberals wet their pants at the mere mention of Ayn Rand. Her words still ring true today.
User Review - 10/10 by ShawnandStaci COutstanding documentary that discusses Ayn Rand's journey to America and how she arrived at such a chilling, accurate account of present-day America's dismal state of affairs. Check out the documentary, then go read Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead and Anthem! It's confounding that people can spew hatred toward an ideal that simply encourages people to be creative and productive. All of Ayn Rand's works are a MUST read for American individuals to develop innovative and creative pathways to a productive future for generations to come.
User Review - 10/10 by FilmGrinder S1000% (not a typo) Firm believer, most people are followers and can't free their minds, because everyone born in america has been bombarded with the idea of how they should live and think (wouldn't want to destroy your foundation, right?) To me, the evidence of what Rand is saying is obvious, and in America's face as i write this, and I am relieved that I am not the only one who sees it (on many differnt levels). Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. As for the sceptics who call her work fiction and nothing more, well, Jules Verne, was also a writer of fiction and look what he predicted. Small potatoes in comparison, but if man can think it, it can materialized or be done. Remember, the world was once thought to be flat.
User Review - 8/10 by Nathan EVery interesting documentary. While I differ with Rand's views on faith, I do respect her thoughts on government intervention. It's amazing to see how accurate the events in Atlas Shrugged are mirroring those in our own time. It doesn't surprise me that the novel was panned when it was released in 1948; no one in post-WWII America could see this leviathan welfare state coming.
User Review - 8/10 by Dann MAyn Rand & the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged is a brilliant documentary that explores one of most prolific authors of the 20th century. The film covers the life of Ayn Rand and attempts to explain why she wrote her novels with a philosophical subtext. It also focuses on her final novel, Atlas Shrugged, and how it represents the pinnacle of what her writing was attempting to achieve. Rand's philosophy of Objectivism is also looked at, along with how it was developed through her writing of Atlas Shrugged. Informative and compelling, Ayn Rand & the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged is an impressive documentary.
User Review - 8/10 by Dragonfly WIt amazes me that this book was written over 50years ago by this author and yet read any news headline today, and we are living the book.
