User ReviewD GA begrudging 3 stars for Arizona Sky. I am not sure if it was simply Eric Dean's bad acting or just a lousy overly dramatic script but I think this little 90 minutes film could have been so much better. I am giving this the benefit of the doubt because I have no idea what it could be like to grow up in an extremely small town (even though I was raised in the country), and be uncertain of yourself and uncertain of your best friend and to carry those scars of longing as well as the shyness and naivety of youth all the way 15 years into adulthood and still act basically the same. I suppose it is possible but come on, forJake to basically stand there emotionless while his childhood best friend literally laid all his guts out time and again and to remain so totally emotionless was just too much for me to bear. Still, a decent performance from Jayme McCabe as Kyle and Patricia Place as his aunt balance this out to where it was watchable. The director Jeff London really needs to loosen up and let the actors act. I think he just tried to hard to make the adult characters seem like the same people as they were when kids.
User ReviewRoxanne RGood, low budget film which deals about lost loves..Despite their strong feelings for each other, two teenage best friends played by Eric Dean and Jayme McCabe hide their real emotions growing up in Arizona. One of them (Jake) decides to leave the small town and head for Hollywood to make movies. Nearly 20 years go by, and now in their mid 30's, Jake is a stressed out movie producer in Los Angeles, while Kyle remained in the small town caring for his ailing mother, never having the chance to go to college and make a life for himself but deep down he still felt different from the other guys. After suffering an awful panic attack (oh yes I can relate to that), Jake is determined to return to Arizona and reconnect with his first love Kyle. Upon their reunion, both realize that they still care and love for each other very much! Folks I shed some tears on this one especially the part when Kyle tells Jake that he cannot offer much because he is just a simple, down to earth mechanic and cowboy and he feels so inferior to Jake....but then Jake realizes that Hollywood is not the magical and beautiful place everyone raves about and it goes from there...Lovely story, very simple, nothing fancy yet the message is loud and clear! Good job for the director (Jeff London) and cast of this movie that teaches us that not everything that glitters is gold and sometimes LOVE does offer a second chance! Recommended!!
User ReviewBee CThe script was good but I felt like it could have been done so much better. I don't feel any chemistry at all between the main actors. I really hate this kind of movie.. it makes you feel frustrated at the end of it.
User ReviewTerry BOkay, at least they managed to cry on cue. Aside from that, errrr..., hmmm, I don't think I have anything to say aside from that
User ReviewPaul Pscenes are long and drawn out. Music score was horrible. Waltons episode soundtrack
