Marlene Smith (Alice Dixson) is a rich woman who returns to the country with a plan to reach out to the poor people and stop poverty. Everyone thinks she's being idealistic but she knows she can make a difference. She decides to disguise herself and live in the depressed slum area of the city so she can penetrate the poor community.
