Movie Reviews

Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 9/10 by Dennis SchwartzThe film was critically acclaimed but because of its overlong 143 minutes and grim story line, it was not the blockbuster the studio hoped for.
EmanuelLevy.Com - 6/10 by Emanuel LevyAnatole Litvak directs with tact and restraint this period melodrama (a woman's picture) about a governess who falls for her employer-nobleman. Davis and Boyer are good, but it's Barbara O'Neil who stands out as Boyer's neurotic and obsessive wife.
New York Times - 5/10 by Bosley CrowtherUnfortunately, there are too many words and not enough music.
User Review - 10/10 by Committed 2 MI love this story! Recommended by a dear friend, I enjoyed this immensely ~
User Review - 10/10 by Michele CBette Davis is my favorite actress and this is my favorite Bette Davis movie. The entire cast gave stellar performances. I remember staying up late as a child to watch this and other Davis films with my parents. Which is why it was often difficult for me to get up early some mornings to go to school. I don't know how I managed to get straight A's and graduate at the top of my class. Davis' acting is compelling, restrained, controlled and a marvelous counterpoint to Charles Boyer's empassioned presence. This is yet another tale of unrequited love with superb directing. Max Steiner's masterful music score puts the cherry atop a flawless cake.
User Review - 10/10 by Alex WAll This and Heaven Too is an incredible film. It is about the upstairs-downstairs affair between a duke and his governess for his children. Charles Boyer and Bette Davis give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Anatole Litvak did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. All This and Heaven Too is a must see.

User Review - 10/10 by Lauren CTerrific. Absolutely stunning. And Charles Boyer... *sigh* ...Total brilliance.
User Review - 10/10 by Steven SI was not a Bette Davis fan until I saw this movie on the cable movie channel TCM. Fabulous film about 2 people who loved each other but could not express that love. Highly recommended!
