| User ReviewP. PThis is loads of fun! Sure, it isn't Citizen Kane. No, it isn't Casablanca. It doesn't try to be. Alien Apocalypse is just a fun little movie with appropriately crafted acting (you know, not so bad that it's embarrassing to watch yet not so good as to be, shall one say, out of place), solid directing (better than is actually needed) and a fun score by Joseph LoDuca which, more than many a more celebrated film score, develops. Kudos to the intrepid Bruce Campbell (never a disappointment) for his half-serious portrayal and the enigmatic Renée O'Connor for her ability to step into a scene and back out of it whenever needed. That sounds simple but as any actor will tell you, the simple things are not really simple. Campy? Yes. Self conscious? No. Fun to watch? Yes. Hey, and it even has sort of a message. |
