The Film Stage - 9/10 by John FinkAs adorkable as it is, Adult Life Skills, like its lead Anna, never quite takes off.

The List - 8/10 by Emma SimmondsAdult Life Skills belies its homemade, careworn feel to present both a polished rib-tickler and a credible, intimate study of grief.

Hollywood News - 8/10 by Joey MagidsonJodie Whittaker is terrifically showcased here, taking an old cinematic premise and giving it a bit of a new spin.
Film Inquiry - 8/10 by Angela TrottAdult Life Skills is an assured and engrossing debut from Rachel Tunnard that deserves to find an audience.
Total Film - 8/10 by Jamie GrahamKnock a star off if you're feeling cynical, but otherwise surrender to this fun, funny, spirited debut.
Stuff.co.nz - 7/10 by James CrootSurrounded by a solid supporting cast and making the most of a few memorable lines, Whittaker's skills help lift what would otherwise be just a solid, unspectacular drama.
NPR - 7/10 by Linda HolmesI can't imagine a person experienced with offbeat English-language films of the last ten years not seeing much that's familiar in Adult Life Skills, but it's a lovely movie with some very good performances and it makes some very good choices.
