65/75 Comarca Beat is a documentary film that tells the story of the four most emblematic rock bands of the 60s and 70s in the city of Santa Fe: Them, Bichos de Candy, Alma Pura and Virgem. Related from the testimonies of the leading musicians and also historians, journalists, plastic artists, theater players, filmmakers, with a diverse and unpublished film and photographic material of the time. In that moment, being young was a form of self-marginalization and resistance, a search in the transformation of sensitivity. The idea that the cultural and aesthetic paradigm could be changed was a current that spread rapidly throughout the western world, and rock broke into Santa Fe as the most representative genre of that change. Several groups were able to become protagonists of the impulse of that movement, despite the neglect of society, the precariousness of equipment and the scarce places for concerts. Cultural milestones such as the Woodstock and the Isle of Wight festivals influenced the young people of this "other" part of the planet: in Santa Fe, the most significant event was the Berduc Island Festival (1971 and 1972), a concert outdoors and away from the city. His main character was Miguel Bertolino, an artist who from an early age showed an extraordinary talent for music and poetry. But unexpectedly, in 1975, in the same way that this current of change had arisen, it began to wane. The death of Bertolino in a train accident at the young age of 24, and the violent eruption of the military process, drowned the creative flame. As part of the filming of the documentary, a recital was held in October 2011 at a symbolic architectural site in the city called Patio Catedral. There several of the original musicians of those bands returned to get on stage with young rock musicians, to interpret the themes that marked that time, achieving a powerful sound, full of history but very current. 65/75 Comarca Beat shows the identity and the genesis of the history of Santa Fe rock, which remains today as a legacy.
