Oldřich Lipský was born in 1924 in Pelhrimov, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. Well-known Czech director and screenwriter, the younger brother of actor Lubomír Leipzig, was born 4. July 1924 in Pelhřimov. During the war he was active in community theater Young comedy, heavily influenced by the pre-war formation of the Liberated theatre.
