Yves Pignot was born in 1946 in Paris, France. Student of the higher national Conservatory of dramatic art in the class of Georges Chamarat, Yves Pignot play the classical repertoire at the Comédie-Française, under the direction of J.-L. Thamin, Simon Eine, J.-P. Roussillon, M. Etcheverry, G. Strehler, T. Hands, R. Roll, Mr. Fagadau, J., Charon, J. Rosny, J. Destoop, and J.-L. Cochet.
