Judy Gringer was born in 1941 in København, Danmark. Judy Gringer is the daughter of a jewish tailor in Bagsværd. She started as balletelev at The Royal. Theatre 1950-1955, but was discarded, and went on tour to Italy with Rita Clair-the Ballet. Later, she participated as a dancer in the Tivoli revue and after participation in films, she came in 1957 to the ABC Theatre, where she was the Pockets-the girl in the years 1957-1964, and at the same time played on Aveny-Teatret. Here she got a breakthrough in interaction with Dirch Passer in the success of the sketch on "Babs and the Nutte". Judy Gringer was from 1964, a freelance actor, and played on most of the copenhagen theatres, fol.a. Fiolteatret and in the province. In total for three years lived Judy Gringer as a hippie in New York city, where she had various odd jobs as a babysitter and statist. She also starred on the revyscener bl.a. in Holstebro-the Revue. She ended her scenekarriere in 1984 at Aveny Teatret in "Amalie Skram". Judy Gringer took as a 17-year-old actor Dirch Passer whom she lived with for five years and later for ten years with the film director Knud Leif Thomsen (2/9-1924 - 14/10-2003), with whom she has a daughter, Julie Gringer. She has also been married to psychologist Bent Take Truelsen, but this marriage lasted only one year. She starred in numerous popular feature films, bl.a. "The girl and the pressefotografen", "Five man and Rosa", "Married", "How are they all", "The mad dane", "Lenin, din gavtyv" and "christmas party" from 1976 as well as in the TV game "family horse".
