Jana Preissová was born in 1948 in Plzeň, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. Jana Preissová, née Drchalová, was born in Pilsen, but a childhood spent with his parents in Rokycany. From a young age exhibited a talent for dance and music, has also played amateur theatre in school then attended recitačních competitions. After graduation at the grammar school not quite clear about the future career choice, to decide between archaeology, medicine and ballet, eventually was taken to the THEATRE.
