Henry Nielsen was born in 1890 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Niels Henry Nielsen grew up in a copenhagen middle to lower class families as the son of kleinsmed Emil Nielsen and wife Alma Theresia Høgqvist. He was quite a young employee at a sengefabrik. As a youngster, he played amatørkomedie and was then on tour from 1915. He teaterdebuterede 15. Henry Nielsen was the epitome of popular fun. He had supporting roles in over 100 films since 1912. Specially remembered he for the role as the lovable caretaker in "The damn cubs" from 1947, which meant that he got tons of letters from children who had seen the film. Another popular role he had as kolonihaveejer in "By the poppy field" from 1953 - and he also had numerous film roles, as landpostbud and police officer.
