Leave your thoughts about Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie.
ColeSmithey.comCole SmitheyFeature-length animated movie based on the television series, and Manga comic book of the same name, is like watching a Japanese video game being played on a movie screen.
Arizona Daily StarPhil VillarrealThe imagination and audacity behind the game are wildly fascinating, and the same is true of the movie.
EricDSnider.comEric D. SniderWatching it is vaguely like watching someone explain how to play poker when you have never played it and in fact have no intention of ever playing it.
Chicago ReaderAndrea GronvallLike the gods, the trading cards are capricious, with ever-changing rules and strategies so intricate that only Yu-Gi-Oh-ologists will fully enjoy this adventure.
Dallas Morning NewsNancy ChurninA treat for the fervent young fans who remain, and a true test of devotion for their accompanying parents, who may need all the help they can get figuring out the storyline.
Jam! MoviesRick BellThe quality of the animation certainly hasn't improved and the dialogue is typically basic and repetitive.
Quad City Times (Davenport, IA)Linda CookThis isn't even a movie. It's a commercial.
Boxoffice MagazineKim WilliamsonVarious other minuses for the uninitiated -- the changing powers of the cards, the intricate strategies of the participants, the almost-lethal nature of gameplay -- are great pluses for aficionados.
Entertainment SpectrumVince KoehlerIt was mostly over my head but the kids in the audience knew what was going on and loved it. If you see this movie, take a kid and let him guide you through it.
San Antonio Express-NewsLarry RatliffSome of the dialogue is unintentionally funny. Early on, for instance, the narrator bellows: 'Even eternity doesn't last forever.'
