User Review - 10/10 by Phirot CMy personal thoughts on this movie, i find it a pretty good movie, of course the original will always remain deep in our hearts but this new reboot is what ive been waiting years for. I like the cast it suited the roles just need a little more improvement. whats missing between the original and this one is the action i felt there was to little the ost was alright but i was hoping for a theme song ost with him law, oscar and domonic but sadly that didnt happen instead we got a rock theme by paul wong who plays dai lo b, the song is good though. i think what most of the audience out there saw the IIB(censored) version which gave alot of negative comments because that version was a bit choppy, i am sure if everyone saw the CAT3 version comments would be a little different hopefully we will see more on the dvd which will feature all the stuff will missed the blood and the nudity and profanity. I am hoping the sequel will be alot better im pretty sure after hearing negative reviews im sure the director will try to get it right this time. keep it up Daniel Chan, work hard!
User Review - 8/10 by WS Wcompared to the original, this remake lacks some charismatic personalities, a big movie feel, that extra attitude that makes it a special gangster flick. however, the story sticks to its guns. thus, it's passable.
User Review - 6/10 by Amy HThe prequel of the famous HK gangsters. Less impressive and charismatic. Med King from another gang join Sammy Sum, one of the gang boss of Hong Xing. Med King feed medicine cocktails to an underage girl and sex her to death. Da Tian Er, a gang friend of Him Law want revenge. So Oscar Leung, Jazz Lam and all beat him badly. Sammy find this insulting and fish out the people involve. Him and gang have no way to escape, with their own boss retiring in his 50s and finally have family, he recommend them to join Hong Xing another boss, Paul Wong. Paul have a thai fighter right hand man Da Tou Zai and he fight Him Law if they wanna see him. Him lose but still Paul meet them. To be his men, they must each take in 100 newbies. Each tried but fail, even secondary kids outwit them. Times up and Paul says he ask his guys to spy on them, he only want honest good people to join him. All of them made it. At the gang CEO birthday, Sammy and Paul quarrel over the Med King incident. CEO says he didn't like Med King anyway and don't count him as the same gang since his invite isn't official but only Sammy acknowledge. He feel CEO is siding Paul. Sammy is having affair with CEO girlfriend Anna. She is a really horny bitch always want sex. He want to be the CEO and need her help. Him is helping to protect a rich man daughter in club from guy harass. He send her home when she is drunk. Soon she date him out. Anna call Paul to play squash with CEO. At locker room, Paul saw CEO throat cut and die. Anna and few other boss enter and she accuse Paul as killer. Those few are bribe by Sammy. Another minion freed Paul and says Sammy will kill him when he defend himself so he run off. Sammy get gang attack Paul and kills him for good. During this time, Him and rich girl is dating and overseas, plan by her tycoon father. He ask Him to choose new career money with his daughter or go back gang and he chose latter. Sammy hold a ceremony to be Hong Xing new CEO. He threaten all HK casket not to hold ceremonial for Paul. Only the local pastor dare to. Sammy go up to stir trouble and the pastor kick his dick twice, back by anti crime inspectors, who is part time pastors in the church. Him wanna find evidence. He break up with the rich girl. The father try to lure him with money but fail. He admire his loyalty and give him money. Him seduce Anna, who off course horny wanna sex him. He tied her up and Oscar use rat in tin can on her belly to force out the truth. At the ceremony, inspector gonna crash the party saying it is gangster assembly, but the liaison officer is higher rank and dispose off the ops. When he plays the video, it is the clip of Sammy in squash locker room killing dead CEO with blade. Then Alex Man appear with few loyal bosses. He is elder bro of CEO who live in Thailand all these years. He is back to find truth and got the cctv. Sammy minion only smash tv but not the recorder. The liaison officer left, the backing bosses all change statements. Him also bring forth the betraying man and Anna who confess. Alex says who kill Sammy can get 10 million reward. Sammy run like hell and is corner by his ex gang and Him gang. They pour petrol on him and Him throw lighter, burn him. Him need to lie low and take boat run to Taiwan to hide.
