W.W. is a happy-go-lucky crook who makes his living robbing gas stations through the drive-up windows. The Dixie Dancekings are a country music band trying to get their first big break. W.W. crosses paths with the Dixie Dancekings when he hijacks their car (and them) to help him rob a bank. At first, the band resists. Overall a charming G-rated caper film- redneck robinhood pals around with a bland band (that sports Jerry Reed!) that uses WW's bullshitting to their benefit. This movie made me laugh out loud a handful of times- one was definitely not meant to be as funny as I found it. The only thing this movie lacked was some character development of anybody who wasn't WW and also just a bit more energy. I would have loved to see the band play more and see their dynamic in general. |
