An edgy drama about a gay teen's tumultuous decent into drugs and anonymous sex, Wrecked smashes cinematic taboos while it spins its cautionary tale. Ryan is an earnest 18-year-old trying to develop a career as an actor and getting his life on the right track. This course is quickly threatened with the sudden arrival of his sort-of ex, Daniel, who arrives at Ryan's door wanting a place to stay and offering the promise of a normal, loving relationship. But Daniel's drug addiction and attitude towards casual sex derail any hope for normalcy and soon ensnares Ryan in his own downward spiral. Handheld cameras, a hot young cast and a boldly upfront approach to sex combine to make Wrecked a unique film experience.

| User ReviewJim CI really had high hopes for 'Wrecked'. It has a very eye-appealing cast and the story line was good, but the direction was...absent. It seemed more like a community college film class assignment gone awry. If you view 'Wrecked' as softcore porn, which is it, the 3some which occurs at just under an hour into the film took longer coming than Jesus, The Sequel. If you view it as 'an edgy drama', it's more edgy than drama, unless you consider the latter to be of the "Oh My God, Becky!" variety. Plus, there's edgy and then there's 'Oops, I went too far and fell off', if you catch my drift. The main character, Ryan, played by the VERY cute Forth Richards, was done well and with a level performance throughout. Sadly, the cast isn't referenced against their role names in the scant credits and even IMDB doesn't have that information, probably for the same reason. The other decent performance was by the boy with the white lip piercing I assume to be Jake Casey. You can watch this movie with the sound down. Or off. It's not quite as painful, that way. |
| User ReviewJuha SVery indie but in this case its a bad thing..the actors are bad and the plot developes only in the last half of the movie. The sexscenes are really pornographic, but the teens are so ugly, that you are disgusted by them. |
