The discovery of a corpse in the foundations of a Görlitz old town house puts Viola Delbrück and Burkhard "Butsch" Schulz in "Der Steinerne Gast" on the trail of a trio of criminals who are still fleeting today - and into a story of old guilt and painful discoveries. Several years ago three gangsters attacked and killed a jeweler together. The body that has now been found is one of the three perpetrators, the inspectors quickly track down a second. When they find him stabbed to death on the banks of the Neisse a little later, it is certain that they also lured the third fugitive out of his hiding place. But who is the third man who is obviously trying to cover his tracks by walking over corpses? While Delbrück and "Butsch" are still searching feverishly and "Butsch" comes across a surprising discovery, his colleague disappears without a trace.
