Leave your thoughts about Winter People.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertWinter People is the kind of movie where you sit there asking yourself questions that apparently never occurred to the filmmakers.
Washington PostHal HinsonAn overearnest story about feudin' mountain families that's good for little more than a few hoots at its own expense.

User ReviewNannette CI love this movie and all the characters..how can it be so underrated? Best of all it has a happy ending.
User ReviewTracy NI absolutely love this movie. Yes it is predictable, yes not a whole lot really even happens....but yet it is very moving and I can seriously say it is the first movie that actually made me cry....and the scene wasn't even overally sad by today's standards. Great movie to watch alone.....bundle up warmly and submerse yourself in this great period piece.
User ReviewMiranda MBest movie Kurt Russell ever did Kelly McGillis expreiance Shines, Movies worth watching Twice
User ReviewShawn WStranded depression-era father finds refuge with single mother whose family is in a long-standing feud with another across the river. Held my attention, liked it better than the box cover suggested I would.
User Reviewbill sCompetently photographed. Couldn't tell what was going on half the time, we end up in places the filmmakers never led us. We're just inexplicably there on the other side of the cut. The synopsis given on WikiPedia is more enlightening than anything that actually occurs in the film. The best part of this movie is the end-title ballad, the Jimmy Webb-penned "Lightning in a Bottle", sung beautifully by Jennifer Warnes, this version is reportedly Webb's favorite recording of the song, and one can easily hear why. Which makes it a shame that the soundtrack album is out of print and regularly goes for $100 used!
