EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyFine Line is trying to lure the same female viewers that embraced Enchanted April to htis mediocre comedy-mystery, starring Mia Farrow in her first non-Wood Allen picture; Joan Plowright as a domineering widow steals the show--again.
Independent (UK)Sheila JohnstonWidows' Peak is chiefly a comedy, and the main weakness is the choice of director -- John Irvin -- who is best known for action movies and, on this evidence, should stick with them.

User ReviewJohn JI just love British humor and even though there are only a few English actors in this film, it was filmed in a British village and such wonderful scenery and countryside. Putting that aside, Joan Plowright, one of my favorite British actresses, was outstanding in her performance. She has that dry comedy and she made me laugh throughout the movie. She is a true actor. When it comes to the last time I saw Mia Farrow, I simply couldn't think of the last time. She also gave a stunning performance and I was glad to see her back in the movies. All in all you will laugh and enjoy the mess that happens and as me, hopefully be surprised at the ending.
User Reviewkatherine rGreat movie. Natasha Richardson and Mia Farrow are both completely perfect in their roles, and the two of them work together to make a fantastic whodunnit. Little touches of humor keep the mood light, while at the same time a moderate level of suspense is held. Awesome job.
