Full Plot Details

Two wannabes decide they're sick and tired of trying to make a name for themselves the old-fashioned way. Terrance is trying to make it as a rock star, while Theo dreams of getting his first book published: 'Truck Stop Hustler,' a racy look at life on the streets as a junkie prostitute. After a string of humiliations by both publishers and music critics, the two hatch a plan to turn Theo's fictional book into an autobiography by having Terrance dress up as the story's protagonist, KK Downey, and claim all the events as having happened to him. All of a sudden the book nobody wanted becomes an overnight literary sensation, and Terrance has realized his dream of becoming famous. But at what price?

Movie Metropolis - 7/10 by Christopher LongKK has a DIY quality that is surprisingly appealing.
The Tyee (British Columbia) - 7/10 by Dorothy WoodendIt's silly, over the top, and immensely self-amused, a lot like those skinny little hipsters on Main Street that clog every restaurant, and push out the old guys from the Legion. Still, it has a certain ridiculous, obnoxious charm.

Also I believe it shows why A Million Little Pieces was embellished and put forth as a memoir: "No one wants to hear these stories from a fat suburban white kid." The film is also a great and amusing commentary on hipster culture in general and how ridiculous it can become.

User Review - 8/10 by Albert CLes films sont plates au cinéma? Ben le problème c pas les films, mais les cinémas. Fréquentez les cinémas qui ne projettes pas que des Jerry Bruckheimer. Comme au cinéma du parc pour les classiques et au AMC forum, pour les films indépendants comme KK Downey. Une comédie très cru puisqu'elle nous montre l'envers du monde de la scène artistique où parfois le messager est plus important que le message... Alors chaussez un alias et allez voir le film.

Two friends hatch a plan to make the abused male hustler drug addict protagonist of their novel a reality by having one of them assume his role in store appearances, only to have it all go to their heads as fame finds them. Worth a rental if you run across it.
