Leave your thoughts about Where’s Poppa?.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertGo if you want to laugh and like being offended.
Planet Sick-BoyJon PopickIt's a shame, but you'd never be able to make a film like Where's Poppa? in today's stifling climate of uptight political correctness.
User ReviewMickey PNOW! This is one of the funniest fucking movies ever made! Ruth Gordon as a senile old woman and George Segal as her long suffering son who hates her. This is far worth the time to go out of your way to see it. A funny black comedy with wacky tangents from Barnard Hughes, Paul Sorvino help add to the hilarity! This is really worth it..even though it's dated. Seeing Ron Leibman being mugged in Central Park is a gas. Get your asses out there and rent this one!
User ReviewTio BAmidst all the dementia-mocking, posterior-biting, and transvestite-cop-raping, one may find comic euphoria.
User ReviewGary TThe scene where the wedding night (honeymoon) is recounted: "and there it was! He made a caca in the bed!" - I simply was not ready for that and went into hysterics and had to leave the theater until I could get myself back under control. George Segal is SUPERB in this film.
User ReviewJay FJust behind the original "The Producers" as one of the best comedies ever made.
User ReviewPeter FThis is my vote for the next "Dine-In Movie". This film is considered the funniest film ever made, and I agree I couldn't pck myself off the floor when I saw it years ago...and since we are having fun..I think handmade pizza is the order for the day
User ReviewChristopher BOne of the first comedies to truly revel in bad taste. Prepare to laugh at rape, incest, hippies, defecation and attempted murder. Segal plays the ultimate broken man and Gordon is amazing as his whacked out momma. If this film were released today I'm certain it would destroy careers rather than create them. Sad.
User ReviewBilly F"Yo man, is this your first rape?" "Yes, it would be my first rape." This might be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The script is on the same level of "Arsenic And Old Lace" for it's cleverness.
