PajamasMediaChristian TotoWhere God Left His Shoes is a holiday miracle - a gritty tale about homelessness that's neither sappy nor sentimental
Eye for FilmAmber WilkinsonAlthough the situation feels slightly contrived... the script is bang on.
NYC Movie GuruAvi OfferWith a more organic and imaginative screenplay, Where God Left His Shoes could have been much more emotionally resonating and powerful.
Film Journal InternationalSarah SluisA neorealist glimpse of a father trying to find a job on Christmas Eve, with a magnetic performance by David Castro in the role of his son.
Time OutDrew ToalThis film needs more than God's Nikes to resonate with an already economically downtrodden filmgoing populace.
User ReviewMike LA New favorite Holidays Drama. This is the kinda emotional power Pursuit to Happyness should've had.
User ReviewJulie Dwhat a gritty, honest, insightful movie. It could be qapplied to aany of us.
User ReviewAlbamar SGrabbed me from the very beginning as a NYC resident always conscious of being a paycheck away from a shelter. Reminded me of Leguizamo's breathtaking characters from Mambo Mouth and Spikerama. Heartbreakingly REAL.
User ReviewVinnie RExcellent movie. Especially to those who have been, or are close to being homeless. Those who have nothing good to say about it are probably very warm in their nice house with a big belly and a big bank account. This movie hits home in many ways. Including the arrogance of those with money, how screwed the system is and how our veterans are dumped on.This film needs to be finished though. It seriously needs a sequel. Tax the rich .....help the homeless. Even $1 can go a long way when you are on the street.
User ReviewJudy II thought it was a very good movie, sad but good.
