Movie Reviews

Reel Film Reviews - 9/10 by David Nusair...Plaza delivers a consistently engaging narrative that only grows more and more compelling as time progresses...
Film Threat - 8/10 by Ayurella Horn-MullerJust kooky enough to warrant more than a few grins, Aylesworth and Perez do something that hasn't been done before. Thrilling and radical, the two combine forces to inject a pattern of delightful risk in the sequences of events.
Starburst - 8/10 by Joel HarleyBrooding with class and style, it's a cut above most of the movies it shares a story with, but certainly not an all-timer like [Rec].
EscribiendoCine - 7/10 by Adrián MonserratA movie that puts hairs on end. [Full Review in Spanish]
Otroscines.com - 7/10 by Diego BatlleAn authentic revelation. [Full Review in Spanish]
Newsweek - 6/10 by Andrew WhalenThere's nothing in it that will surprise horror movie aficionados.
Common Sense Media - 6/10 by Brian CostelloScary Spanish horror film with demonic imagery, violence.
NOW Toronto - 6/10 by Norman WilnerSupposedly based on actual events, Verónica likely owes more to [Paco] Plaza wearing out his videotapes of A Nightmare On Elm Street, Prince Of Darkness and Witchboard as a kid. Turns out imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery.
The Ringer - 5/10 by Adam NaymanIf Plaza's pileup of post-Exorcist tropes works, it's because Escacena creates a fully inhabited (in both senses of the word) character who we want to see escape her deadly circumstances.
Thrillist - 5/10 by Daniel JacksonBy playing the real off the surreal, Veronica finds an often chilling middle ground.
