User ReviewDwight Angelo DThe most daring account (so far) of Generation Y's love story, 'Unofficially Yours' is still a better catch among the sea of overly-formatted Filipino rom-coms thanks to the fine pairing of Cruz and Locsin.
User ReviewMarvin BPlot: Macky (John Lloyd) a broken hearted dentist meet Ces (Angel Locsin) in a resort somewhere in the Philippines and the two had a one night stand, not expecting that the two will be workmates. applause: John LLoyd and Angel Locsin plays average to above average showing how the two have almost mastered the craft of the romantic comedy genre. You'll get a few laughs thanks to some familiar faces like K Brosas seamlessly mixing comedy to romance to conflict then drama. The same romantic comedy formula is used like all other John Lloyd movie (i think this is the 3rd i watched so far) and as far as i'm concerned the formula still works. rants: If you watched Friends with Benefits featuring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis you might say a lot of elements derived from this movie ,although it captures the more Filipino taste to it. Dont bother expecting a lot from the sex scenes coz it will be downright awkward to silly. my final verdict: I give Unofficially Yours an official 7.5 stars out of 10
User ReviewJojo PThis kind of PG13 Filipino love story film crossing the conservative environment of our conceptualization industry is a turning point or a new light. Yes, it may have copied the concept of American Flicks like Friends With Benefits, Love and Other Drugs, and No Strings Attached, but at least it changed the way Filipinos should face such themes or issues like sex. The cinematography is high for a Filipino film but the sounds and visuals are plain-faced and sometimes unclear. Still, I commend the artistsâ(TM) performances especially that of Locsin and Cruz. Over-all, itsâ(TM) a great movie for Valentine dreams.
User ReviewCarlo Magno MCongrats to the Phil movie industry for making the move "Unofficially Yours" it is by far near to international standards. The plot, the script and the castings are beautifully crafted.... best liner if you ask me... " I can never mend your heartache, not me, not your ex, not anybody can make you trust and love again. It will always be you.... What I can only do is simply LOVE you and wait for the day that you too can love again..." -Macky... :)
User ReviewMark James AAgressive Sex scenes? that's No Strings Attached. Meeting the one you love in a workplace? that's 500 Days of Summer. Horny Orgasmic Faces? that's Friends with Benefits. Good Cast, Uneven Chemistry of the Tandem, Mainstream Romance/Story Style that Direk Cathy's been using again and again just to make it click.
