While in this pleasant condition he runs across a bargain sale on second-hand coffins. He then decides that he will further punish his wife by dying. A friend is in on the hoax and Ike is taken home in the coffin. His sorrowful wife allows herself to be intimately consoled by Sheriff Butternut, and she even promises to wed him as soon as the funeral is over. Ike watches his own funeral. Finally, at the graveyard, he frightens all the mourners away, pushes his wife and the sheriff into the grave which was intended for him and buries them alive.
