User Review - 10/10 by Lori ZPowerful disturbing well done with strong true emotions and conflict.
User Review - 10/10 by Sagen SDynamic performances, compelling moral ambiguity, all set to a thundering, beautifully intense organ score--this is a must-see.
User Review - 8/10 by Anders AA story with great insight about real troubled water of serious crime. Life after prison, its not easy, back to society with people hating you. A crime often conflict two sides which are wounded, both of them comes forth in significant proportion here. Its impossible not to feel something here. And also Poppe are using his effective method of knoting the movie together with flashbacks and, consciously making us aware.
User Review - 8/10 by Ann SA superbly-acted film with no easy answers, in part because it avoids simple protagonists. The title is spot-on for a narrative involving a child murderer, a single-mother priest, and the grieving parents of a missing child. Highly recommended.
User Review - 6/10 by Walter MIn "Troubled Water," Jan(Pal Sverre Hagan) is eligible for parole. So, of course it would help if there was a job waiting for him on the outside. Luckily enough, a church needs a part-time organ player which he is inside jail. Unluckily enough, they have already filled the position. Heartbroken, he manages to play well enough in an impromptu audition to get the job, very much impressing Anna(Ellen Dorrit Petersen), the young priest. And as a going away present, Jan's fellow inmates deliver one last beating. "Troubled Water" wants to intelligently and thoughtfully say something about guilt, redemption and forgiveness but instead comes across as too forced and contrived to be entirely successful, especially as regarding a certain Simon and Garfunkel song. Still, the movie has its moments and an intriguing structure where the first half ends on a cliffhanger which is resolved in its second half as seen through another character's eyes. The second part and therefore the movie is carried by a tremendous performance from Trine Dyrholm.
User Review - 6/10 by Bruce BDecent fim from Norway...I liked this because it showed the story from 2 characters poinsts of view. However, I've only rated this 3 stars because I was a bit disapponied in how the film ended. But it was worth the viewing. Thumb up..only one.
User Review - 6/10 by Martie EIntriguing story but started to drag in the last quarter.
