Arkansas Democrat-GazetteDan Lybarger[Kate] Davis avoids making a shallow diatribe from its volatile subject.
Flick FilosopherMaryAnn JohansonThe assault to which King is subjected is shocking, brutal, obviously entirely unjustified, and difficult to watch... and yet watching is essential...
indieWireJude Dry[Kate] Davis has created a deeply moving portrait of a woman whose life is turned upside down by callous police brutality and racism.
User ReviewDon%20 JThis is a shocking but true look into how African Americans feel and deal with the police everyday.
User ReviewEdward HA great documentary about a woman who was stopped by police for speeding then treated overly roughly and who she is as a person.

User ReviewDE RDocumentary short about a teacher who is stopped by the police.. she is taken from her car and slammed on the ground apparently for no reason based on the dash cam video... It is compelling but i would have liked a bit more context... an interview with the cops, lawyers, etc.
User ReviewJoel FTechnically the documentary was fine. HOWEVER, as a person that believes that racial profiling and unwarranted police brutality does exist, I'm shocked that the story of Breaion King is the one that chose to feature. To me, she's a completely unsympathetic character. She's a liar (it's clear that she knew she was being followed and was racing to the store to try to get away from the police officer, she was belligerent and deliberately escalated the situation by being rude, dismissive and not following some clearly provided instruction. I have no sympathy for Breaion King and hope she does not win her lawsuit as she doesn't deserve it but I also think the police officer needs to be terminated. They were both wrong. Her for escalating the situation and him for giving in to the power trip he was on as a police officer. It's really sad that this is the best person they could find. Also, I really don't appreciate the documentary maker trying to tug on my heart strings by portraying her as a wonderful teacher. That snippet at the end where she's running around with the students, flailing her arms around more than the students and teaching them about carnivores and omnivores is a bit too contrived. I would be appalled to have a teacher like her teach my children after watching a video of her acting the way that she did while being stopped.
User ReviewScott EWhat happened to her was wrong, but she does not make for a very sympathetic documentary subject.
User ReviewDavi dThis movie displays the typical way some cops behave when a person does not instantly comply with their orders. I did not see racism here. The subject was a black woman who did not put her feet in her car so the police officer could shut the door. The cop over reacted and she assumed it was because she was black. I'm white, I learned a long time ago that some officers have a god complex . During a stop it is best not to challenge their orders so they have an excuse to make trouble for you.
