StarburstAndrew MarshallThe story ends on a satisfying and inevitable note that wraps things up in a neat but uncontrived way, culminating everything to have thus far occurred.
Film Ireland MagazineConn HolohanDespite the impressive central performances, and moments of real cinematic tension... Tiger Raid ultimately struggles to escape its origins and fails to provide sufficient action or invention to fully justify its transition to the big screen.
Total FilmAli CatterallSome superbly stylish flourishes make this a promising calling card for debut director Simon Dixon.
Little White LiesPoppy DoranServes gore, cleverly administered comedy and blink-and-you'll-miss-it romance, all at the expense of a predictable plot.
User ReviewAnna ÓA thoroughly enjoyable story written by Mick Donnellan and directed beautifully by Simon Dixon. Hilarious dialogue, great cinematography and wonderful acting from Brian Gleeson and Damien Molony. GO SEE IT!!!
User ReviewMichelle HReally enjoyed this tense thriller. Perfect ending!
User ReviewMatt DWhat a stunning and pleasant surprise the premiere of Tiger Raid proved to be. A surprise because I'm not a big fan of the genre but this was splendid on so many levels. The dialog was outstanding but you would expect his, the film born from a play by Mick Donnellan, a master of the art but the plot too was excellent, somehow managing to combine an almost unbearable tension with moments of great humour. The cinematography was stunning, filmed in Jordan, depicting war-torn Iraq. The three main actors were excellent too, Sopia in particular and without giving any spoilers I can say that the plot had more twists and turns than a tricky corner forward, as it wound it's way to an epic conclusion. A great nights entertainment. Highly recommend.
User ReviewWill EA highly interesting and thrilling film that keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are plenty of funny moments with witty dialogue between the two main characters. I really enjoyed the twists the film took and was highly surprised by the ending. I would definitely recommend to watch this film!!
User ReviewNiamh DSeen Tiger Raid at the Galway Film Fleadh and was very impressed. Not only is it an edge-of-your-seat suspense drama but the dialogue between the characters is clever enough to allow for moments of truly witty humour that cuts through the tension. With such well-developed characters it was easy to get sucked into the plot and I really enjoyed the colloquial banter between two Irish lads in the middle of a war zone. The stunning scenes created by the director of the desert landscape give the movie a beauty that both juxtaposes and complements the raw griminess of the mission. A must see for fans of action movies, dramas or comedies that appreciate intelligent screenplays and artistic camera work.
User ReviewPadraig OTo say I was very impressed is an understatement, The way the dialogue is let flow and the dark humour made me think I was watching an Irish Tarantino! The suspense builds and the characters were allowed plenty of time to develop. I will definitely be looking out for future films from this writer.
