VarietyRichard KuipersThis adaptation of Elliot Perlman's 1998 novel shifts uneasily at times around weighty themes, but its essential humanism still strikes chords.
User ReviewAndrew KThis is, so far, my favourite Australian movie. And my favourite movie from this decade. I think it's kind of a remake of "It's A Wonderful Life" and while some bemoan the way David Wenham's character becomes down-and-out so quickly, hey, it's more realistic than what happens to George Bailey! Combines the best of Alfred Hitchcock, Frank Capra and Ingmar Bergman.
User ReviewTimm SOne Of My Favourite Films As It Highlights How Sudden & Abruptly Life Can Take A Turn For The Worse By No Fault Of Your Own Other Than Happenstance. It Is A Perspective Rarely Visited In Films & That Is Why This Is Such A Gem.
User ReviewCARLOS MAwesome! def one of my favourites...honest portrayal of modern day standard moral dillemas. Dave Wenham awesome actor
User ReviewPaul AWenham is great. Wynter is ok, and Hunt-Prokhovnik is painful.
User ReviewAndrew CI really loved this. It's flawed, and a bit overlong/slow, but i felt i could relate to it so much, that it really ended up affecting me.
User ReviewJessica BDavid Wenham is such a great Australian actor. This film sticks in my mind as one that portrayed (really well) how discusting and selfish humans beings are. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, as I don't really 'enjoy' any of the movies I really like. It is worth seeing.
User ReviewKate Ssuch an amazing film. shows how quickly your life can fall apart.
User ReviewSabian WA very sweet film and a somewhat indulgent exploration of aging and expectations.
User ReviewJane SA very good movie that comments on society on so many levels, without being a sermon. Brilliant. I will see it again.
