Common Sense MediaBrian CostelloAnimated fantasy has violence, some drinking, and innuendo.
User ReviewHeero YA refreshing take on Thor, not as his iconic self but as his younger self, naive with still much to learn. The movie dwells on the brotherly relationship between Thor and Loki before they became enemies and their adventures in the 9 realms. I enjoyed this mythological romp much more than I enjoyed the actual live action movie.
User ReviewAntwan J. Ja prelude to what we already know about Thor and a look at his journey as a young man starting out i found this film to be very good and quite the origin story
User ReviewJohn YPretty good film about a spoiled prince trying to become a man. Very condensed and does not have a comic book feel to it at all, but that shouldn't matter if you love adventure films.
User ReviewZach MPretty neat seeing our favorite Asgardians as ambitious teenagers. The animation is rather smooth too. But, although I think the antagonist's motives weren't misplaced, his actions were still a bit rash considering his solemn buildup. But still, great fantasy movie nonetheless. Definitely recommend it.
User ReviewMatthew GI liked this made for TV film. I thought it was nice for it to show us Thor in his teen years going on his first adventure. The animation, lighting and shading are so wonderful and effective, plus the story is a real good one. The action sequences are great, and it's just one fun movie altogether.
User ReviewJames CVery enjoyable tale of a young Thor and his quest to prove to his father, Odin, that he is a true warrior. It's really amazing that these animated Super Hero movies (be it either Marvel or DC) are so much better than the live-action feature films. While this story shares some similarities to parts of the live-action "Thor" in theaters, it is it's own creation and really thrives from not having to try to fit into a proposed series or link to any other Marvel movie. Animation & voice work is great and the score by Guy Michelmore puts the normally reliable Patrick Doyle score for the feature film to shame.
User ReviewRichard CPretty fun but can sometimes get dull whenever the Warriors Three aren't around. On par with the better of the Marvel animated features and definitely washes the bad taste of "Planet Hulk" out of your mouth.
User ReviewJames RNice kids based animated super hero film. I liked that Thor didn't have his god-like powers or Mjolner yet.
User ReviewJason VWe start off at a pub in outer space where the pagan gods of various pantheons all gather to drink and fight! Now how can you go wrong with that? A rollicking, swashbuckling bit of adventure, this!
