EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyGreat screwball comedy about the transformation of a plain and repressed girl (splendidly played by Irene Dunne) into an eccentric and loving woman.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzTheodora goes silly rather than wild in this outdated look at how they made comedies back then.
User ReviewGreg WOne of the most brilliant screwball comedies to come out of the 1930s. It more than holds its own up against the likes of "My Man Godfrey" and "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town."
User ReviewMarshall MOK, now I'm going old school on you a$$, this film is a true classic. It is considered one of the great Screwball comedies, and it lives up to it's hype. It is a wonderful film, filled with great characters, situations, and comedy. The actors are superb, and Irene Dunne proves she wasn't only a dramatic actress but a true comedy icon. I can't recommend this film enough. I t is fantastic, and has a great ending. Heartfelt, and alive. even to this day. well that's that jack so watch, and thank me later haha
User ReviewZach LThis has got to be one of my favorite movies. It is so well done and under appreciated.
User ReviewAshley HTheodora Goes Wild is a fantastic film. It is about author of a controversially racy best-selling book who tries to hide her celebrity status from her provincial small-town neighbors. Irene Dunne and Melvyn Douglas give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Richard Boleslawski did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the humor and romance. Theodora Goes Wild is a must see.
User ReviewAlia PI love love love this movie. Irene Dunne is adorable. Too bad nobody has every heard of it.
User ReviewKristy VI love love love this movie. Why Irene Dunne didn't win the Oscar is beyond me! My favorite line is "maybe you should take an Aspirin."
User ReviewPrivate UThe scene with Dunne and Douglas lying down and eating berries is timeless- a beautiful expression of cinematic photogenie.
User ReviewDarryl Chere is an unhappy accident. dunne looks like she's about to play norma desmond in 'sunset boulevard' instead of the proper organ-playing woman with a heart of gold that she is. it's the plot that takes her on a whirlwind trip as her alter ego, romantic novelist caroline adams. but it also takes her to melvyn douglas--not a bad trip for 1936.
