Two best friends in college Mitch and Elizabeth make a pact that if in ten years after graduation they are both not married they will marry each other. Ten years later Mitch (still single) finds out Elizabeth never got married so he decides to travel across the country, find her and follow through on their pact. | User ReviewNodelle CThis movie changed my life. It was full of humor, romance, and unexpected twists. I laughed, and I cried. It was truly inspirational. An experience to remember, with truly high quality acting. If you're in college, this can be especially relatable because of all those awkward experiences. All you dog-lovers, this is the movie for you! P.S. You might think my review is sarcastic, but it really isn't. This movie is a lost classic. Providing hours of entertainment, it's actually really good. For real. Not kidding. |
| User ReviewRhynal RI really enjoyed this film. It's great to see a romantic comedy these days without lots of gratuitous hardcore sex scenes. This was funny, original, and wholesome entertainment for the whole family. I enjoyed Ben Bailey from cash cab as Mitch. The dialogue was excellent and includes lots of interesting details, such as how Mitch explains how he knows how to drive around Pasadena, CA because he has a GPS. (He's from Boston). I loved the extensive use of flashbacks with Mitch in a geri curl wig so you know it's in the past when mitch & hailey duff first met. Jack was mean but performed well, I liked how at the end Rudy puts him in an armlock (he deserved it !!!!!!!!!!! hurt doggie - see below) Overall a great picture that has it all: funny black best friend, lots of music, voice-over narration to explicitly explain the story, cute doggy, nonstop 2009-era pop music, and surprise ending. 5 stars. "We're getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" |
| User ReviewBrett WIn the spirit of full disclosure, Matt was a student of mine in college. So maybe 4 stars is partly influenced by that relationship. This movie might not have played well on the big screen, but I rented it and watched on TV and found it enjoyable. It was not boring and I cared about the characters -- important factors when it comes to my movie-watching. Keep up the good work, Matt! |

| User ReviewDeanna BI thought the storyline was a bit of a cliché even before I started watching it. But I just needed something to do. I needed something simple and something that wasn't terrible, but it didn't have to be amazing either. This movie is a cliché and it didn't bring anything new to the table. You've probably seen this movie a thousand times before and you've probably seen similar movies that are a lot better than this one. It was watchable, I didn't feel the urge to turn it off, but it still left me somewhat empty afterwards. |

| User ReviewBeau HThis movie could have been funny... But it's not! The concept of a pact leaves alot of potentially funny situations that this movie fails to capture. Chris Soldevillas attempts at acting come off as forced and every scene he's in is awkward. The only semi bright spot is Haley Duff but she is not seen enough to even pull this movie into mediocrity as everything from poor editing to horrible filming locations i.e. (the.college dorm looks like the 2nd floor of a Suburban home) The Wedding Pact is painfully obvious a low budget flix that I would only recomend if your a huge fan of Haley Duff |
