"Cactus" Jack Slade (Kirk Douglas) is the meanest bad man in the west, or so he thinks. When a bank robbery goes awry, he lands in jail facing a hangman's noose. When the corrupt owner of the bank offers him a job, Jack sees a chance to stay alive and get rich in the process. All he has to do is steal a strongbox full of money the banker lent to Mr. Parody Jones (Strother Martin) who needs it to keep his mining operation going. If he defaults on the loan, our "friendly" banker takes over the mine. Ms. Charming Jones (Ann-Margret) comes to town to collect the money and take it back to her father, Parody. To ensure the money makes it back home, Parody has called in a favor from a man who owes him a life debt. Enter Handsome Stranger (Arnold Schwarzenegger). The toughest and strongest hero in the west. As tough as a steel plate but, unfortunately, just as dense. As Charming and Handsome set off on their journey, Jack sets out after them. Using his trusty "Bad Men Of The West" handbook, Jack sets one trap after another only to have each one go awry in true Wile E. Coyote versus The Roadrunner fashion. With Looney Tunes-style sight gags in almost every scene, this movie will have you and your whole family laughing up a storm.

Washington PostGary ArnoldDouglas mugs his way through a tedious routine of graceless, mistimed slapstick as his incompetent outlaw repeatedly fails to waylay the miscast Schwarzenegger and Ann-Margret, while director Needham - apparently lost without Burt Reynolds - resorts to hackneyed camera trickery, and only stops the rot with a truly offensive resolution.
NewsweekDavid AnsenAnother broad-brush, unfunny feature from one-time stunt director Needham.
The New York TimesJanet MaslinMr. Douglas does a lot of stunts, some of them reasonably good; these seem to be the would-be comic backbone of a movie that's not after laughs but heehaws, which in any case it doesn't get.
User ReviewBen FGood old fashioned family movie fun. Nostalgic and memorable. Arnie as a cowboy??? I dont particuarly work but its amusing none the less.
User ReviewDarryl JI loved it, Kirk as a real life Wile E Coyote, a laugh from start to an unexpected finish.
User ReviewGus KUn très très bon mix entre un western et l'univers déjanté de Tex Avery ! Avec Kirk Douglas en méchant malchanceux et Swcharzy en gentil couillon avec un cheveu sur la langue =D
User ReviewNoname I love the movie, it's basically a live action looney toon show.
User Reviewnipp sThis move is awesome! Arnold & Kirk doing some slapstick.... Yeah the movie has no real ending but that's cool. If I were named after my father I'd be called "The UPS Guy"
