Movie Reviews

Slant Magazine - 9/10 by Chuck BowenThe documentary illuminates how art and artists live together in a symbiotic existence, each giving as well as taking.
The New York Times - 8/10 by Ben KenigsbergIsabelle Dupuis and Tim Geraghty have made a grim and haunting documentary about what it means to burn bright, then die alone.
The Hollywood Reporter - 7/10 by Frank ScheckThe Unicorn walks a fine line between sensitive observation and voyeurism, frequently tipping over into the latter. It's certainly an uncomfortable film to watch, but the viewer's discomfort doesn't begin to compare to that felt by the troubled people onscreen.
User Review - 2/10 by cheryl sThe plot sounds stupid. Just one more indication of our ever-increasingly Narcissistic Society. Even the way it's stated - as if, this is most normal people's logical 'next step'! When unsure about getting married- have a 3-way! How retarded! A couple who is 'engaged' for 4 years? They have already pledged to be married- that's what engagement IS. Next logical step? Hey- let's have a 3-way! How shallow, that's what people want to see??? I challenge the public to demand better! I challenge a writer to Write! A Story- about people's real lives, and emotions, pain and joy, love and loss- anything with substance! This requires a real person; who has real emotions - not just 'projection', and who has lived and has a creative force- I might as well write a book, movie, script- myself. What's up with ALL the explosions, sex, and violence? Is this all Americans want to see on the Screen??? The plot sounds stupid.
