Leave your thoughts about The Theory of Flight.
Independent on SundayAntonia QuirkeThe final reel of the film is over-sentimental, but the early scenes involving the couple at war are affecting.
Film Journal InternationalChris GrundenCarter's bravura performance is the reason to see The Theory of Flight, but it's a shame that nothing else in the film matches the obvious care she put into her role.
James Sanford on FilmJames SanfordKenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter generate enough good will to keep aloft a charming bit of whimsy that probably would crash and burn with lesser talents at the controls.
Nitrate OnlineElias SavadaThe cinematic equivalent to experimental light aircraft, this is a bumpy ride that sputters and fails, not quite crashing yet never soaring above its earnest intentions.
User ReviewLeo LThe most realistic portrayal of disability in film that I've seen...
User ReviewSusan FHelena is absolutely phenomenial as Jane Hatchard. I do not know if she won any awards for her portrayal, but she certainly should have! Helena is such an incredibly versatile talented actress who is also intelligent, beautiful and has a heart of gold. I would pay to see anything she is casted in! And am anxious to see her in the new Harry Potter film!!!
User ReviewMadison BOne of my favourite movies, Bonham Carter is really truly amazing. :)
User ReviewLuis OA marvelous performance by the great Helena Bonham Carter!
User Reviewnull nI've waited 9 years to watch this film, and I'm so glad I did. The film really heartfelt and moving, but also a witty comedy, although getting a bit dated almost a decade on. Helena Bonham Carter gives a beautiful and really believable performance, even if her voice was a combination of Frank Spencer and Borat. Branagh also gives a fine performance. Highly recommended, but it was never released in the United Kindom (aside from a cinema release). Hopefully that'll change now.
User ReviewSasha Ra great film, filmed partly in my home town
