Movie Reviews

Chicago Reader - 6/10 by Nick NunziataHearts are ripped out, heads are smashed, and there's plenty of flesh to be seen. If that's what you crave for a night of retro viewing, this is your flick.
Washington Post - 5/10 by Richard HarringtonLots of gore and some decent artistic effects may keep audiences interested; if not, then the scantily clad.
The New York Times - 5/10 by Vincent CanbyA nonsensical, Hollywood-made, R-rated adventure-fantasy set in a primeval past about usurped kingdoms, erring knights, recently awakened ogres, distressed princesses and various hangers-on.
Chicago Sun-Times - 1/10 by Roger EbertThe Sword and the Sorcerer is so dominated by its special effects, its settings and locations, that it doesn't care much about character. It trots its people onscreen, gives them names and labels, and puts them through their paces. That's not enough.
User Review - 10/10 by Eddie ROne of the most overlooked and underrated gems to come out of the wake of the early 80's sword and sandal fantasy films. I place this one on the same shelf with my other favorite flick, Conan the Barbarian. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
User Review - 10/10 by Shane Cthis is 1 of my favs of all time and i can't wait for part to it took 28 years but it coming out.
User Review - 10/10 by Gordon TAwesome . . . I wrote a review and it accidentally got erased. The stuntman dies in this movie and they use the footage anyway, I'll finish this later.
User Review - 10/10 by Robert ISaw this movie when I was a kid, and STILL LOVE IT. It is a bit of Conan (ORG) meets the wondering prince. Lee Horsley's Best movie From all I've seen. There is Blood, Magic, a bit of bare breasts and LOTs of good action. Plot is a touch weak. Anyone who has ever played a RPG will tell you that. Even with that said it still deserves a 5 stars.
User Review - 10/10 by Longest DI based my life on the principles expounded by this economically told expression of archetypes.
User Review - 10/10 by Karl FA film rarely seen today, but a film I have a great fondness of. In the 80s before the likes of lord of the rings, there were many fantasy films, but only a few managed to capture a certain element, of escapism, of creating a world we hadn't seen before. The ones that spring to mind are the Conan films, red Sonja and this very film. Completely underrated, this is a complete joy, a real guilty pleasure!!!
