Movie Reviews

Chicago Reader - 9/10 by Dave KehrIts intensity is impressive and remains uncompromised by the prettifying aesthetic touches Truffaut adds here and there in an apparent attempt to distance himself from the overcharged material.
EmanuelLevy.Com - 9/10 by Emanuel LevyLove, obssession, and madness, key issues in most of Truffaut's work, also define this meticulously made 1975 film, arguably his last masterpiece.
The New York Review of Books - 8/10 by Michael WoodThe poignancy of the movie is a little facile, but it's a real poignancy.
Creative Loafing - 8/10 by Matt BrunsonTruffaut's study of Adele is ofttimes almost clinical in nature, but Adjani brings more than enough volcanic passion to the project.
User Review - 10/10 by Sarah FTHIS IS AMAZING! Ms Adjani portrays tragic insnaity brought on by love-lost misery in a poignant impossible swirl of pacified emotion that is completley moving, gripping and beleievable, at the same age as Keira Kinghtly somehow I fell this is a far greater achievement!
User Review - 10/10 by ali hOne of my very favourites, it's heartbreaking and it's an oscar winner.
User Review - 10/10 by X Aexellant =] am onlyy sain that cos its ma name av no saw itt
User Review - 10/10 by The BUn des grands role d'Isabelle Adjani.
User Review - 10/10 by Dini. PA woman with an absent father (Victor Hugo adored Adele's older sister) who falls for an absent lover... until she loses her mind over it. Romantic and tragic: the best Truffaut movie and certainly the best Adjani performance (BTW the Director was indeed in love with the actress).
