Entertainingly led by famous Hollywood historian Scott Michaels (E!'s 20 Most Horrifying Hollywood Murders, Dearly Departed: Vol. 1, FindADeath.com), this epic documentary employs never-before-seen autopsy reports (analyzed with the help of the Los Angeles Department of the Coroner), dozens of rare photographs, original Manson Family music recordings, and modern-day visits to the locations where the action went down, in the most complete retelling of the Manson Murders ever put on film.

User Review - 10/10 by Tiffany DFor anyone interested in the Manson family and the Tate/LaBianca murders, this is a much watch. It's basically a video location tour of sites and stops all related to the crimes and the people involved. While at times the macabre, intimate nature nearly gives the viewer an unshakable guilt, one still can't look away. The low production values don't take away from the interest- but it's definitely for those that are into true crime- this one in particular. I don't think it be enjoyable much to those who aren't. 4 1/2 stars

The host comes across as an afficianado rather than a historian stating facts, and it's both annoying and disturbing. There's also a bit too much unrelated information, and with some editing this would have had a much better flow. Overall it's interesting, but needs a few tweaks to really be great.

This filmmaker tells the tale with his own unique take... very passionate, very personal, very "indie" and sometimes off track. He doesn't worry too much about the usual documentary formula and sometimes rambles off on tangents, but that seems to work for him. If you're uneducated on the Manson murders, this is a simply put and simply made account of the crimes.
User Review - 6/10 by Brandon WIt's an extremely dark, twisted and interesting tale, one of the Manson family who went of a killing spree for no sane reason. The whole topic has been shrouded in different versions of events and different people being involved at different times, depending on who you talk to. This film tries to debunk all the myth about the story and set the record straight as to what happened with Manson and his followers, the result... an insightful but generic documentary ran by a presenter who is far to committed to knowing and collecting every hollywood gold that he can. It's not that hes annoying, hes just not a presenter and so we are essentially watching a fan boy of hollywood wandering about telling us about these famous locations, he even throws his own theories in there, which kind of goes against the whole point hes trying to make. Its not horrendous though, its an informative and semi enjoyable watch, however it leaves you on such an unsatisfying note that you feel an extra 10 minutes could have been spent wrapping it up better, instead were left with lazy text to do so, with some eerie music. underwhelming.
