User ReviewErik JEntertaining, but just about as trite as you can get.
User ReviewPaul DWas alright but no where near a horror film. More like a thriller. It was a-bit slow for me but it's not the worst movie to see.
User ReviewPete SEntertaining, but just about as trite as you can get.
User ReviewRachel PPretty scary. Reminds me of Alien series. It even had a sign in the movie that said Weyland.
User ReviewRaven SWhile "The Rig" is a laughable low-budget film, it's actually very entertaining to watch while living on the movie's location! I'm staying on the Charlie rig for training, and it was really cool to see all the nooks and crannies of the rig used for a c-movie horror film. Can't wait to show the other guys on the rig!

User ReviewBloodmarsh KSuspenseful, grisly, fun! I may have shat myself a couple times.
User ReviewJim DEssentially ArmagedAlien. Take the opening act of Armageddon and then the last two from Alien and set it all on an Oil Rig. It's intentions are good, but it just takes it self so DAMN seriously. I can't decide which is sillier the melodrama about "life on an oil rig" or the alien, which guy in a rubber suit so bad it would make Godzilla giggle.
User ReviewSteve KUtterly ordinary, perhaps less than so, beasty on the loose flick. Very low budget. The main selling point for me, admittedly a doozy, was that Forsythe gets to play a sympathetic role for once.
User ReviewAaron HEntertaining, but just about as trite as you can get. The movie finishes with so many loose ends that it leaves more questions than answers. That is fine when a film is a profoundly epic masterwork. But given that is more killing-a-rainy-afternoon type viewing, a tighter plot would have improved things, in my opinion, a lot. Most fundamental to my dissatisfaction were, "What is this thing? and even more important "Why isn't anyone interested in finding out what this is and where it came from? let alone, "What does this thing have against us?" Any semblance of realism went out the window with the characters' remarkable lack of curiosity surrounding the creature trying to kill them. That said, there are enough cheap scares and gore that it held my attention to the end. Don't go out of your way to see this, but if you see it while channel surfing on a rainy afternoon, it may be acceptable.
