A former New Jersey State Heavyweight Boxing Champion, he took abuse from Sonny Liston, got his nose broken by Muhammad Ali, and inspired Sylvester Stallone to write "Rocky". | User ReviewPaul DSheds some light on Wepner, who maybe isn't the most noble person in the world, but who certainly did get the short end of the stick when it comes to his own story. His story is both inspiring and sad and blessedly (for us and sort of for him) led to Rocky. |
| User ReviewJames OInteresting documentary about Chuck Wepner, who clearly inspired at least parts of the Rocky films. His story was great, the implied incredulity as to Stallone's resistance to his lawsuit just shows that film people don't know much about law (his claim, while not baseless, was a stretch). But Wepner is an interesting guy and it is fun to see how all this stuff worked out. |
