User ReviewLee MThis movie is just soooooooooo funny, because it's sooooooooo true!
User ReviewNathan HThe best Jack Lemmon movie I have ever seen. The story is great and the events that happen are even better, but what makes this movie a ten is the hilarious dialogue from both Jack Lemmon and Anne Bancroft. Then to top it off, one of the greatest endings for a comedy EVER!
User ReviewSuveera AExcellent comedic drama play, beautifully enacted by Lemmon and Bancroft in THE sizzling best film dialogue ever heard on film. An added plus bonus: A pre-Rocky Sylvester Stallone makes a deliciously short appearance in the film as well as F. Murray Abraham. Watch and see if you can recognize them!
User ReviewKalle ROne of the top 20 movies of all time. A drama played out in an apartment on Manhattan, NYC. Great acting throughout and a clever script with shades of hope strewn out in places. Massively forgotten and underrated, unfortunately.
User ReviewPrivate UThis has got to be one of the best dialogue-based films I've seen. The interplay between Jack Lemon and Anne Bancroft is perfect, and the timing is spot on.
User Reviewflora cGo keep someone in Europe awake! I've seen it probably 20 times and still crack up.
User ReviewJustin DJack Lemmon is one consummate actor when it comes to falling apart on screen. Although this masquerades as a "comedy," there are flashes of his extraordinarily painful performance in Days of Wine and Roses. I'm not Neil Simon's greatest fan, but I give him credit here for blending the tragedy of Lemmon's mental breakdown with some very good humor. I wonder if any marriage in the real world could withstand this kind of relationship intensity? I don't know.
