Filmcritic.comChristopher NullA worthy entry into a very difficult genre.
CompuserveHarvey S. KartenI've never bought from telemarketers, but I bought this movie.
Capital Times (Madison, WI)Rob ThomasA film noir about telemarketing? Actually, I bought it.
User ReviewOlivier LIt's worth watching even if some say that the ending is predictable. The plot and dialog are really excellent.
User ReviewFredrik Lthis movie is kind of what i do...close big deals
User ReviewJason LNot actually good per se, but Vince Vaughn and Ed Harris are both doing their great standard gig. Saw it 1.75 times.
User Reviewkali oGood cast and Vince Vaughn looks extra HOT in this film!!
User ReviewMark SIt's a con from beginning to end, but who's conning who? Good performances throughout.
User ReviewLarry BGreat movie for Vince Vaughn fans. Julia Ormond is fantastic. Story was very interesting to see the underground world of telemarketing and the ending has an unexpected twist.
User ReviewDavid SThis was entertaining, but there really isn't a lot going on in it. Or at least there is not alot of interesting or original stuff going on. Vaughn is in the fast talk mode that made him famous. Ed Harris is completely wasted as a once mysterious character who shows up and doesn't do a whole lot. It's kind of like Glengarry Glenross (in fact, I've heard people call this a rip off, but I disagree) and that appealed to me, but the characters are not as funny and the dialogue does not even compare to it. It's worth a watch, but don't dwell on it. i found it to be a wannabe thought provoking con game, but it just can't live up to it. But everything does make sense in the end and that is saying something these days. There is one great scene (upon reflection) that features Harris giving a speech about wealth. It doesn't really mean much when he says it, but by the end the real meaning is there.
